Hone Sound - Original EP (DEFR022)
Deep footwork jungle EP by the producer team from Copenhagen.
After their debut contribution to our 160 Vol. 1 series with 'Madder' (atmospheric pads and perfectly rolling jungle breakbeats) in 2024, the two veteran producers from Copenhagen return with a deep footworkjungle EP on January 16th 2026.
The Copenhagen duo's contribution to footworkjungle builds on emerging slowfast sounds from 2012, as well as atmospheric breakbeat science from the '90s. Hone Sound adding offbeat dub chords and wide synth pads to meticulously crafted beats and breaks.
While 'Want U' and 'Original' are centrepieces for jungle and hybrid bass club environments, 'Indigo' might be a treat for those who like to blend it with classic footwork and juke tracks. Hone Sound conclude their debut EP for Defrostatica with 'Lockdown', a haunting ode to solitude at 134 BPM.
Exclusively on Bandcamp: Bonus track "Pale Light", a moody slowfast / halftime jungle track with spaced out pads, amen break outbursts and flirring synth arpeggios.

A very gentle and fluid ride through the tempos and styles, the warm and soulful touches of dub cut 'Indigo' ease us into the groove before 'Original' take us into more of a physical territory with graceful footwork elements weave their way into the mix. Follow Hone Sound
Hone Sound is a project created by Henrik Christiansen and Morten Wilken to explore and celebrate drum’n bass, both the roots and history as well as the many forms it is merging into at the moment. Drawing on a wide range of inspirations from dub and techno to jazz and ambient, Hone Sound works to create their own take that will hopefully resonate beyond their own Copenhagen studio.
